About the Artist

Aloha! My name is Blake Fairbanks and this is my story 

As an artist and designer, I find endless inspiration in the natural beauty and vibrant culture of Hawaii. I was born in Los Angeles and grew up surrounded by crystals, watching in awe as my dad cracked open geodes and cut beautiful agates for me. Those moments, along with summers spent in Hawaii, left me in awe of the energy and magic of these islands and crystals themselves.

While studying at ASU I fell in love with Arizona’s rich mineral history and began experimenting with lapidary work, as a hobby, making pieces for friends and family. However, despite that interest, I left it behind and what followed was a graduate degree in France, and a job working for SAP in London. It couldn’t have been more different from Maui.​

Everything shifted during a spontaneous trip out of cold London to visit my sister, a longtime Maui resident. On that trip everything changed, I met my partner Forest, strengthened my bond with my sister, and reconnected with the magic that is Maui. Something about that visit felt like coming home, and within one month, I made the leap and moved to Maui. It’s been one of the best decisions of my life.

Now, I’ve returned to the art I’ve always loved, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that blend the natural beauty of crystals, the spirit of Hawai‘i, and the raw, instinctive power of primal art. Every piece I make is deeply personal, rooted in the landscapes, energy, and connection I feel here. I’m inspired by the way early humans created from the earth with intention and intuition, and I try to channel that same spirit in my work. I hope my pieces bring a little piece of paradise into your life and remind you to trust yourself and take the leap when something’s calling you. As cliché as that sounds… it’s true!
